2021 Plus Swimwear Must Haves

This post does contain affiliate links, should you make a purchase I will receive a small commission. Thanks!

This summer, I’ve challenged myself to find great swimwear for an apple shaped body type. I carry most of my weight in my stomach and that can be hard when you are busty or have a very curvy body.

Ladies, swimsuit season is among us and it’s time to show some skin!!! I know you’re probably thinking ----who?! But guess what, it’s YOU! We will be outside and showing up to the beach, pool, lake or any body of water with our bodies without apologies!

Check out some of these pieces that I love!

Miraclesuit Swimwear

Miraclesuit offers a line of swimwear designed to hold you in all the right places while giving you shape and support. It’s only 10 seconds to a miracle! They have a little something for everyone. What I enjoy most about this line is the built in bra support of their suits. While I am not heavy chested, I don’t like to have my breast become flatten by a support suit. Their suits are incredibly flatter.

Stitch Mix Temptation

Black and white swim suit
Plus size back swimsuit with back cutouts

I absolutely love this suit. It does so much for me, not only is it black (my fave) but the side detailing really helps to accentuate my waistline to create an hourglass shape. The back a really cute crisscross detail.

Rocksolid Madrid

This color looks amazing on and compliments my skin tone very well! It did not provide as much tummy control as I would have liked but I could have gone down a size to give a tighter fit. If you’re concerned that the suit won’t hold you up well it comes with straps.

La Blanca Swim

La Blanca has taken a modern approach to swimwear. They have chosen classic styles and made them wearable for today's time. These swimsuits are soft - I mean buttery smooth. I didn’t know that texture mattered until wearing these.

Belle FioreBelle Fiore Ruffle Skirted Bottom

 Twist Bandeau Tankini Top

This is the perfect 2 piece if you don’t want to go too bold with showing off your belly. I totally get it; as a mom of 3, I have to be in the mood to show that type of skin. This set (sold separately) is amazing. I feel held in and stylish!

Riviera Renewal V-Neck Caftan

Blue swimsuit cover up

This cover up is EVERYTHING! I imagine myself strolling the hotel lobby and heading poolside with this on. It’s a cover up without looking like one and it still has that buttery smooth material.

Lastly, and probably my most loved is the Island Goddess Shirred One Shoulder in black. This suit looks so good on. The shirred bodice hides the belly to create a sleek silhouette.

I love this straw hat for pool days! It’s so light and blocks the sun well. Grab yours here!

La Blanca Black One Shoulder Swimsuit

While these suits are a little more pricey, I do have a few budget friendly options!

My Gigi Pip Hat Collection

Y’all I have an addiction! I have found hats and they’ve become my life. Maybe I knew they always would because my grandmother is a hat lover and I always loved the way they looked on her. I have become a Gigi Pip stan! So here’s the back story, I purchased a hat from another company for a photoshoot and I thought it would work after reading the reviews. I ALWAYS read reviews….well wrong the hat only worked if I didn’t have hair extensions. I was so frustrated. I’m always doing something with my hair and I don’t have the smallest head so…I needed a big head friendly hat. I found it! What I love about this company is the quality is unmatched and they offer sizing options of small to x-large which is perfect to fit all hat needs.

Want to see my collection in action take a look at the reel I created over on Instagram.

The Monroe Rancher

If you don’t buy anything from this list grab this one! It comes in several colors and the style is classic. It’s the “hat” that you’re looking for to take an outfit from okay to oookkkkaayyy!

I purchased this for my spring/summer hat. Think maxi dresses or gardening when you want to rock this one. I love that it’s wide enough to block the sun so I’m not worried about sun damage when paired with my favorite sunscreen.

Cara Loren Pencil Brim – Tan

This was a limited release so by the time you see this post I hope it’s still available but this is a DOPE hat. I feel like I should be on someone’s magazine. The style is so classy! I added a hat band for extra sass!

I plan to add a few more to my collection because I can’t get enough! Right now they are having a sale if you purchase 2 hats you’ll get a Ginger hat for free! That’s a major steal.

If you grab a hat, tag me so I can see you styling!

DSW Spring Shoe Haul 2021

I am a shoe lover and always have been most likely because of my grandmother. My grandpa would always say that she had more shoes than feet, which was true but he also felt like she had more shoes than she could ever wear in a lifetime! Maybe? I mean shoes are as good as handbags, right? I have flat, wide feet so if that’s you, you’re in good hands here!

Well, here’s what I got! DSW is my go to place for shoes because I can get everything I’m looking for in one place.

Melissa Slide Sandal

I love these more than I thought I would! My husband even did a double take when I tried these on so I know they are for sure a keeper. I purchased these in green to help liven up my wardrobe. Even if I don’t add a lot of color I like to play with it in my shoes!

Dahlin Sandal

When I saw these I instantly thought, Tory Burch dupes!!! I love cute shoes but I also love a good price and these fit the bill! These are not the perfect fit though, being someone who has a large foot I have to grab shoes when I can. If I’m not experiencing bloat in my feet, then these are perfect. They have a very close fit.

Adaline Sandal

I love a good block heel and this one works for me. I was a little nervous when I tried it on because it didn’t seem like it wanted to fit but once I got it on – PERFECTION! These were also a great addition to add color to my shoe game.

Chiara Platform Sandal

Are you even living if you don’t own a good printed sandal? Not in my book! I love a printed shoe, it gives me an easy way to spice up my look and go bold without overdoing it! These are really comfy and easy to walk in! Catch me outside!

Matty Wedge

Platform sneakers? Don’t mind if I do! So, this is not my typical style but I figured why not? If I’m going to wear a sneaker can we make it fashionable? This fit the bill. You will have to break this shoe in. After 1-2 wears it will be fine.

4 Foundations for Oily Combination Skin

IMG_5598.JPG

I am a full coverage kinda girl! Although I’m beginning to lean towards less makeup and more skin days. However, there is something about a full-coverage matte foundation that gets me excited! Below is my favorite, tried and true foundations.

1.      Maybelline FitMe Foundation Matte + Poreless

I love this foundation and have used it for years. It’s under $10 and you really get the best bang for your buck. This is a very buildable foundation – depending on how you choose to apply one application maybe all you need. It’s great for an everyday foundation.

2.      Fenty Beauty Pro FILT’R Soft Matte

I had to get use to this foundation and how it works. At first it was not my favorite because of the way it settles onto the skin but now that I know how to properly use it – I love it. I recommend apply this with a sponge/beauty blender. Go light with applying and build up, wait until you see how it settles before moving on to setting to setting your foundation.

3.      Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup

Now this foundation is the truth IF you know your shade. I recently discovered this after wanted to find a foundation that would stay on all without breaking down and this was it. I initially picked up the wrong shade and was devastated thinking it wasn’t for me but after getting the right shade it was perfect. My only drawback is you have to work fast because it does dry/set quickly but it last. It is on the higher end so I try to use it sparingly.

4.      Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear

In love with this foundation, I was introduced to it after giving up my favorite MAC one. It’s lightweight and full coverage. I love that it doesn’t dioxides the color you see is pretty much the color you get. It goes on well with both a foundation brush and beauty blender. It’s long lasting and doesn’t mess with my skin…MAJOR Bonus!

Have you tried any of these? If so, I’d love to know your favorite or tell me about a foundation that should be on my list to try.
