Worn With Love | Poppet Slings

Freely Nat x Poppet Slings

I’ve never pinned myself as being a baby wearing mama. I was always taught that holding your baby too much can cause them to be “spoiled” and no one will ever want to watch your child BUT as I’ve gotten older my views have changed.

HELLO growth!

Baby wearing has been around since forever! It’s the practice of keeping your baby or toddler close to you in a carrier. It’s been said that babies who are carried sleep, feed, and grow better. (Read more here)

I knew from the moment I became pregnant that I wanted to bond with my baby from the start. I always made sure I talked to growing belly so he would recognize my voice. Then I had to figure out ways to keep that connection going and I found that baby wearing would help aid in that closeness.

Now let’s be honest, there are hundreds of carriers out there and it’s so hard to decide on which one to go with. Trust me, after reading countless reviews I was confused. What I did know is that I wanted a quality carrier.

I was reached out to by Poppet Slings and it was truly an answered prayer. It kept me from having to hunt for a sling instead this one found me. I have the Osborne sling in the classic length with bronze rings. It is currently sold out but you can sign up to be notified when it’s back in stock.

The sling comes packaged in a cute little box with the Poppet definition on it. It came with an instruction manual that is very helpful! What I’m learning is practice makes perfect. Watch videos if you’re more of a visual person to get a better understanding of how to use the sling.

So far, I’m in love. He enjoys being close to me when he’s fighting sleep and I’m unable to stop what I’m doing. If you’re in the market for a sling be sure to check them out! I’ve cooked dinner in my sling…can you say rockstar!

How To Get Ish Done | New Moms Edition

Welcome to Motherhood!!!

The DockaTot was gifted to us by DockaTot all opinions are my own.

Ohjoy dockatot

Being a new mom is tough. Really being a mom is tough in general but nothing really prepares you for the first few weeks and trying to manage a newborn. This time around has been mentally and physically draining for me.  I’ve been doing everything on my own for the most part and that’s come with its own set of challenges.

However, I won’t complain! What I will say is that you have to find some balance. Finding balance is key in everything that you do and managing motherhood is no exception.

Maddy and Clay

Have you ever heard the saying “sleep while your baby sleeps”? I’m sure we’ve all gotten that piece of advice but what if you can’t? What happens when you just need to get ish done and still want to keep an eye on your little one. For me dockatot has been a game changer. Everyone has their own uses for it but what I’ve found works for us is that I’m able to still move around and keep an eye on him while I do things. I can safely wash his bottles and my pump parts while he plays or naps.

When we have company over and I don’t want them to come in his room I simply pull out his dockatot and they can enjoy him from there. It makes my life so much easier. His sisters love to cuddle with him but he’s still very tiny and I don’t want them to accidentally drop so I can sit the dockatot on their bed and they still get to play with him without me stressing over all that could go wrong.

More importantly, I’ve found that during out late night feedings it’s great to have him close to me. It cuts out the middle man. I have never thought of myself as being a co-sleeper type mom but when it’s 2 am and you can barely keep your eyes open its great to know your baby is right there and you can easily pick them up for a feeding. I feel confident using this product because of its high ratings and testing for breathability. It’s the perfect multi-functioning item to have!

Guess what the dockatot I have is currently on sale for $150.00 so if you like this print snag it now!

Valentine's Day | Love on YOU

It’s ALMOST Valentine’s Day!

We all know this can be a bittersweet holiday for some. Valentine’s is all about L-O-V-E some people hate it because they are single BUT I have a little secret for you… You don’t have to be in a relationship to love on yourself! Don’t have a partner? Spend time taking care of you!

Remember you don’t need anyone to make you happy. A person should add to your happiness not be it! This year…I will spend time loving on my babies. I might even get my girls from school early. (Shhh…don’t tell them)

My dad always bought my sister and I chocolates and gave us a card for the occasion. I’ve tried to keep up with the tradition but only one of my kids enjoy chocolate sooooo I have to find another tasty treat!

Nevertheless, I will spend this holiday in love; loving myself and loving on those who love me.

How will spend your Valentine’s Day?

Shopping Made Easy With Binxy Baby

I swear new inventions are being created every day and who knew someone would come up with something so cool! I remember being a new mom struggling to figure out what to do when going to the grocery store. My first time as a new mom, I went to Walmart on a quick shopping trip and decided to take the stroller inside thinking it would be a fabulous idea. Haha, boy was I wrong. That was the worst idea I have ever had. I was putting my items in the bottom of the stroller and I started getting dirty looks, I’m sure people thought I was stealing so I grabbed a cart.

Pushing a stroller and shopping cart is not for the faint of heart. Learn from my mistake, don’t try it! Next grocery trip, I decided to ditch the stroller and just take the car seat…well it worked out better but you’re limited on spaced when baby is placed in the cart.

Well Binxy Baby had the right idea! They help make shopping trips easier! Clip the hammock to your shopping cart and place either the car seat or baby inside. The hammock can safely hold up to 50 pounds!

I’ve had the opportunity to try the product out for myself and I love it! This makes things so much easier. If you’re interested in getting one for yourself click here and you’ll receive 10% off!
