Celebrating Galentine's Day: Honoring the Power of Friendship

A sweet friendship refreshes the soul. Proverbs‬ ‭27:9‬‬ MSG

In our fast-paced lives, it can be easy to overlook the importance of friendships. We often prioritize romantic relationships or career goals, leaving little time to appreciate the special bonds we share with our friends. Galentine's Day, a holiday dedicated to celebrating female friendships, offers the perfect opportunity to show our appreciation and love for the women who make our lives richer.

Embracing the Essence of Galentine's Day:

Galentine's Day, a term coined by the beloved sitcom "Parks and Recreation," has evolved into a global celebration of friendship. It's a day to celebrate the unique, unbreakable bond between women, reminding us of the power and support we find in each other's company. I am blessed to have some truly amazing women in my life that love and support me. I may not speak with them everyday but I know they’re just a phone call away.

Ways to Celebrate Galentine's Day:

There are countless ways to celebrate Galentine's Day and show your appreciation for your girlfriends. Here are a few ideas to inspire your celebration:

  • Galentine's Brunch: Organize a brunch or breakfast gathering where you and your friends can enjoy delicious food and meaningful conversations. Share stories, laughter, and your favorite dishes to create a memorable experience. Have everyone bring a dish or collect funds and have the brunch catered.

  • Friendship Photoshoot: Capture the essence of your friendship by organizing a photoshoot. Choose a scenic location or a fun studio to create beautiful memories that you can cherish for a lifetime. Pictures are worth 1000 words and being able to have these special photos will mean so much to you. I love taking pictures with my girls!

  • DIY Craft Party: Plan a crafting session where you and your friends can create handmade gifts or engage in creative activities. It's a great way to express your artistic side and bond over a shared love for crafting. A DIY paint and sip would be perfect; find a picture online and order canvases or hire someone!

  • Spa Day Retreat: Treat yourselves to a day of relaxation and pampering. Book a spa day where you can receive massages, facials, and other rejuvenating treatments. It's a perfect way to unwind and recharge together.

  • Galentine's Movie Night: Host a cozy movie night featuring your favorite films. Prepare a selection of snacks, drinks, and comfy seating for a relaxing evening of laughter and shared entertainment.

Galentine's Day is a reminder of the strength and significance of female friendships. It's a day to celebrate the women who inspire us, support us, and make our lives brighter. By embracing the spirit of Galentine's Day, we can deepen our bonds, create lasting memories, and remind each other of the incredible power that comes from the bonds we share.

It’s time to grab your girls and celebrate Galentine’s Day. What is Galentine’s Day, you ask? It’s a day for the girls and a day of celebrating friendship. This year I decided to throw my girls a Galentine’s Day brunch! It was everything I wanted and then some! Galentine’s day is celebrated on February 13, a day before Valentine’s Day. Although not an official holiday, it should be!

Life has taught me to live in the moment and pour into the people around me. I may not speak with my friends daily, but I know they’re only a phone call away. I believe it’s so important to nurture these relationships. As we get older and start our own lives, our friendships tend to fall by the wayside. I am committing to checking in more and seeing them in person at least twice a year!

It wouldn’t be me if I didn’t send the girls home with a little gift. I ordered personalized gift tags with their names and favorite colors, Galentine’s Day-themed cups filled with candy, and a cute pair of heart sunglasses.

Set the mood with some good tunes

If you can’t sing some of your favorite songs with your girls, then who can you do it with? We plugged up the JBL Bluetooth Speaker and rocked out to our favorite 90s and 00s R&B!

Valentine's Day | Love on YOU

It’s ALMOST Valentine’s Day!

We all know this can be a bittersweet holiday for some. Valentine’s is all about L-O-V-E some people hate it because they are single BUT I have a little secret for you… You don’t have to be in a relationship to love on yourself! Don’t have a partner? Spend time taking care of you!

Remember you don’t need anyone to make you happy. A person should add to your happiness not be it! This year…I will spend time loving on my babies. I might even get my girls from school early. (Shhh…don’t tell them)

My dad always bought my sister and I chocolates and gave us a card for the occasion. I’ve tried to keep up with the tradition but only one of my kids enjoy chocolate sooooo I have to find another tasty treat!

Nevertheless, I will spend this holiday in love; loving myself and loving on those who love me.

How will spend your Valentine’s Day?
