Red, White and Blue Layered Drinks
/Are you looking for the perfect patriotic drink for the 4th of July? I’ve never been the type to go all out for holidays but now I'm interested in getting a little festive. We are coming off a high from Juneteenth and these red, white, and blue drinks are perfect! I have both adult and kid friendly drink options.
I can’t take all of the credit for these ideas. I found these ideas via Pinterest and had to make them my own.
Kid Friendly Sparkling Drink
Ingredients
Steps
Fill your jar/cup with ice all the way to the top
Pour your red soda first fill half way to ¾
Add in your sprite
Top off with the Gatorade or Powerade
In order to get your drink layered properly you need to pour slowly. Trust, if you don’t it will not work. You’re layering based on sugar content. The highest sugar content needs to be on the bottom
Now that you have a drink for the kids it’s time to make one for yourself!
There are two options for making these, you can try frozen or liquid. I love the frozen version but it is HARD to make it but not impossible.
Frozen Layered Drink
Blue Layer
Ice cubes
Blue Curacao
Red Layer
Strawberry syrup or frozen strawberries
Ice cubes
Smirnoff Red, White & Berry
White Layer
Ice cubes
Smirnoff Red, White & Berry
I’m not giving measurements as they will vary depending on how much you’re making.
Make each layer separately and freeze in between. I tried to layer them as I went DO NOT do this. Freezing them in separate glasses will create the desired effect, I ended up using small bowls to do this. Once layered, you will have a delicious bomb pop style drink.
Sparkling Layered Alcoholic Drink
Ingredients
Red Mountain Dew
Smirnoff Red, White & Berry or Sprite
Smirnoff Ice Red, White & Berry
Ice Cubes
Follow the same steps as above without needing to freeze. This is great if you’re short on time or don’t have a blender.
Steps:
Fill glass with ice
⅓ Red Mountain Dew
⅓ Spite
⅓ Smirnoff Ice Red, White & Berry
You can play around with how much or how little you would like to add but the highest sugar content still has to go to the bottom in order to create the layered effect. I can’t wait to see what you come up with.
Have a safe and fun holiday!
